Here's a sampling of the latest pictures of Miss Julia... enjoy!

Julia continues to love her rainforest gym... and holding onto her lion's mane:

Another fan of the rainforest gym:

Three months:

Julia turned 3 months old last Thursday (already?! how did that happen?!?!) It's so much fun to watch her take more and more of an interest in her surroundings. She loves her rainforest jungle gym and has started grabbing and playing with the toys. Same thing with her bouncer seat: she bats at the hanging toys and loves watching the monkey and frog move back and forth. Her favorite book has been "Chicka Chicka Boom Boom," and she often giggles if I start reciting it to her. She's so cute when it's time to eat because when I lay her down on her Boppy pillow, she realizes what's about to happen and starts to laugh and cry at the same time and try to eat the pillow. She continues to blow lots of bubbles, enjoy sucking on her fingers, and generally frown upon nap-taking. She's also (somewhat) rediscovered her love for her nook, much to the relief of Jonathan's and my prunes (aka fingers).

For those of you who've been wondering how things have been going since Jonathan and I went back to work and school... I think Julia is the most well-adjusted of the three of us! (You can probably guess who is the least...) I'm working 12-hr shifts every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday; all day shifts thus far, for which I'm incredibly grateful! Jonathan is doing a wonderful job with Julia while I am at work, and they have already attended several organ recitals and master classes together. Julia even lets Jonathan practice sometimes (must have been all that intrauterine exposure...). It took awhile for Julia to figure out how to take a bottle while I'm gone, but she seems to have gotten the hang of it. When I come home at night, no matter how cranky Julia has been up to that point, as soon as I walk through the door, she can't stop smiling... it is the most wonderful feeling in the world! I sure enjoy the four days off I have a week with her, but we miss Jonathan while he's at class (she sure is glad to see him when he gets home!). I think Jonathan and I feel like single parents a lot of the time, but we are grateful that we've been able to work out an arrangement that keeps one of us at home with her all the time.

That's all the updates I can think of... I'll be posting some new pictures of Julia soon... hopefully today, but that depends on a certain young lady!

Like Mother Like Daughter

The women of the family (especially Julia's aunts) will appreciate this. On Labor Day, while Jonathan was at an organ department master class (in spite of the fact, by the way, that Eastman did NOT hold classes on Labor Day), Julia and I took a trip to Kohl's. Julia was in her stroller, and usually she fusses if she stops moving. HOWEVER, as we wandered through the shoe, purse, and little girl clothing departments, Julia just looked at me and smiled, cooed, and giggled nonstop. She was in seventh heaven. When her father heard of it... well, I'll leave the disgruntled moans, groans, and lamentations to your imagination...
